Hey y’all! Hope you had a great weekend! I’m excited to share about my weekend with you because we had a lot of fun!
Right after work, Cody picked me up and we headed to Charlotte, NC for the Panthers vs. Patriots preseason game! We are both Patriots fans and it is always fun to see them play as we live nowhere near the Northeast. Best part was Pats won!
We decided to go out for a drink after the game and ended up at what used to be World of Beer. I had a cider and it was definitely not as heavy as Angry Orchard and was just sweet enough!
We spent Saturday exploring Charlotte. We started with a hearty breakfast at the Original Pancake House. And you can’t go to a pancake house and not get pancakes, right?!
Clearly my eggs did not last long enough on the plate for the picture 😉
After breakfast we went to Epicentre, which we thought would be shops but ended up being mostly restaurants, so everything was closed. So, we will be visiting there at night the next time we are in Charlotte.
Since that was a bust, we found a mall to go walk around and window shop. We ended up at SouthPark Mall, which had some great stores to check out. We grabbed some coffee first before stepping into Brookstone. Have any of you seen the kinetic sand stuff… you know the sand that sticks together and doesn’t make a mess? I’m obsessed with it whenever I see it! There was also this really cool digital board you could write on with your finger and you can read it.
We went into some clothing stores, surprisingly only Cody walking out with a purchase. I did find some things I liked though. I am all about fall fashion!! Something I haven’t decided if I’m a fan of or not are these blanket cardigans. Anyone else have an opinion about them?
For lunch we hit up Price’s Chicken Coop. A to-go fried chicken place that was recommended to us and it DID NOT disappoint! I’m definitely glad I don’t eat this all the time because I was dragging afterwards, so it was a good thing that Cody and I split a meal.
After we ate lunch we had time to kill before our next activity so we decided to walk uptown (which was good idea after eating that). Such great views and we ended up being in their arts district, which was really cool!
We ended our day in Charlotte with a bang! We found this really cool activity online called “Blackout”. It is an escape room kind of place where you are given a mission and have to complete this mission by finding and solving clues to eventually find a key to let you out of the room. You only have an hour to complete it and this place has you complete your mission in the (almost) dark. It was REALLY fun and worth the money! We did the zombie themed mission as we are big Walking Dead fans. I would totally do something like this again and recommend any of you to check it out!
Today has been more laid back (our legs were actually sore from the amount of walking we did the last 2 days). We watched our church service online at home while drinking some coffee. Finished off the rest of the rainy day with meal planning, grocery shopping, teacher planning, and relaxing. I’m trying to fight off a cold right now and I’m kind of losing lol. Hopefully it gets better over the week because we have some friends visiting us later this week into Labor Day weekend!!
How was your weekend? Have you ever been to Charlotte?
