Hey everyone! How was your weekend?! We spent a lot of our weekend in Columbia, SC, our first time there! To keep this post a little shorter, I’m going to give lead-in to each day then let the pictures do the talking 🙂
Friday was my high school’s homecoming game, but with us going out of town the rest of the weekend I knew I had to get some things done to truly enjoy it and I ended up not going to the game. Cody and I stayed home, I worked on some school things for the week, and then we watched Unbroken. But in the middle of everything I discovered Friday was National Pug Day and boy did it make me want our little pug even more!! SO CUTE!!! We are waiting until next summer after our wedding, which feels so far away. Cody said just think of it as waiting 9 months for a baby to come 😉
Saturday we both got up and did a workout before heading out to Columbia for the Gamecocks game! It was a great day for football! We got there a little early and had time to walk around before settling down in our great seats and watch the Gamecocks come up with a victory!
After the game we headed to Za’s Brick Oven Pizza for a late supper and it was SO GOOD! Their breadsticks with tomato basil pesto were some of the best we’ve ever had and their pizza was delicious! Cody was even able to watch more football 🙂 Then we headed to Kaminsky’s Dessert Cafe, and all the desserts were calling my sweet tooth’s name! Cody and I ended up sharing an adult smore’s milkshake that had Bailey’s in it. Again, SO GOOD! It even had mini marshmallows and chocolate chips in it! What would you order at a dessert cafe?!
We stayed in Columbia overnight so we could go to the South Carolina State Fair on Sunday. We found out that the fair didn’t open until noon on Sunday, so we were able to go for breakfast. We found this place online and the wait list when we got there showed us that it was worth it and it was! It was traditional breakfast food and it was just so tasty! Breakfast is my favorite 🙂
After breakfast we headed to the fairgrounds and had a great time! We walked through the animals at the petting zoo, rode the sky lift, watched some swine races, played some games, and ended our visit with some delicious mini donuts (it’s not a fair in my eyes until I’ve had some mini donuts!) What’s your favorite part of a fair?
After we got home from Columbia, we stopped to pick up our Save the Dates that we ordered on Friday! They turned out great and now I just have to cut them and send them out 🙂
I hope y’all have a great week! I hope to actually post more than just today this week like I always plan to 😉
