Sorry for the delay. We definitely had a busy but awesome weekend and my day off was a lot of running around in the rain that I didn’t get a chance to sit and write down this post.
Friday Cody had soccer again so I had a nice relaxing night of Netflix.
Saturday we got up and headed to the South Eastern Wildlife Exposition (SEWE). It was definitely right up Cody’s alley and we saw a lot of cool things and adorable dogs! Our friend Chris spent the midday with us until his fiance Katie met up with us later.
The Dock Dogs and Birds of Prey shows were really cool, both having animals fly through the air 😉
The only thing I wish we would’ve been able to go to was the Live Animals exhibit over at the Gaillard Center, but we’ll just have to do it next year.
Before heading to the SEWE Soiree, we stopped at this cool place called Kudu, which is a coffee and craft beer cafe. Definitely a place that pleases everyone’s taste buds!
The SEWE Soiree was amazing! The food was incredible, catered by Jim ‘N Nick’s (y’all know how I feel about them by now) and Rodney Scott’s Whole Hog! The drinks were pretty good too 🙂 I even tried steamed oysters for the first time!
They had a great band play, older but current; however, the remix of the Cha Cha Slide they played was terrible… none of the cool moves!
We had so much fun at SEWE and I would definitely go back!
Sunday was a great Valentine’s Day! We got up and made a late breakfast at home followed by a trip out to Magnolia Gardens. There, we did a chocolate walk through the gardens and admired the few bloomed flowers and delighted in various chocolates. Although it was a little chilly, it was a beautiful day and we had fun!
The finale at the gardens was when one of the many peafowl there was displaying its feathers! SO COOL!
That night we made supper together (spaghetti and garlic bread), which is something we don’t normally do. We’ve exchanged small or homemade gifts in the past, but we just wanted to experience something different together instead.
We ended the night with some House of Cards and How I Met Your Mother (HOOKED!). All in all, a nice Valentine’s Day 🙂
What did you do for Valentine’s Day? Do you go all out?
